Child Protection Procedures

Do you want to report a concern about a child?

If you are worried about a child or young person you should tell us immediately. Children and their parents may need urgent help.

Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) procedures

LSCB procedures are now only available online at

http://www.proceduresonline.com/berks/index.html

This website should be saved to desktop/favourites for ease of access. Select 'Contact Us' to register for email alerts whenever there are changes to the procedures and to make any comments and/or highlight inaccuracies.

Printing of the new procedures is not recommended as any printed pages will expire within 72 hours. Those who do not have immediate access to the internet should make arrangements to do so e.g. via the library. Ofsted is aware of the change to the online child protection procedures and state that the need to meet the EYFS Welfare Requirements remains.

Training

For details of current Universal Safeguarding courses please click here

All members of the Early Years and Childcare workforce are able to gain free access to the LSCB’s e-learning package for Level 1 training.

This package is easy to access and work through and is appropriate for those staff who are waiting to receive face to face training, or those who are due a refresher (i.e. have not received Level 1 training in the last 3 yrs) and those who would welcome an update.

In terms of Kwango, to access the updated Universal safeguarding , keeping children safe in education and the CSE courses users must now create a new account and when prompted use our new Organisation codes. All previous log in details for these courses will now no longer work

Please access the website using http://www.kwango.com

Please also note that school staff can choose to do either Universal or Keeping Children Safe in Education. They are not required to complete both (they are in essence the same course but the KCSIE version uses more school related language and reference to the guidance so would make sense they complete this version)
