Family Care Policy

Below is the Family Care Policy that Wokingham recommends school governing bodies adopt. The policy also includes the attached toolkit which includes procedures and standard letters when managing family care related cases.

In the case of Maternity Leave the school should follow the process below:

The school bursar issues the employee with a copy of the Employee Maternity Pack which contains the relevant forms and letters (see below).

The employee should complete all the relevant documentation in the pack and also provide a MATB1 form and return it to the school. The school bursar then checks the documentation before sending it to the payroll provider. The school is also responsible for notifying the payroll provider with the date the employee intends to return to work.
