Training

As noted above, there is information about safeguarding training courses herehttp://wsh.wokingham.gov.uk/professional-development/training-courses/safeguarding/

In addition, all members of the schools workforce are able to gain free access to the LSCB’s e-learning package for Level 1 training.  This package is easy to access and work through and is appropriate for those staff who are waiting to receive face to face training, or those who are due a refresher (i.e. have not received Level 1 training in the last 3 yrs) and those who would welcome an update.

To access the e-learning uses need to access the website at http://www.kwango.com and create a new account.  When prompted the user will need to use the new Organisation codes noted below. Previous login details for these courses will no longer work.

Please  note that school staff can choose to do either Universal or Keeping Children Safe in Education. They are not required to complete both (they are in essence the same course but the KCSIE version uses more school related language and reference to the guidance so would make sense they complete this version)

LSCB Annual Schools Safeguarding Children Audit 2017

The 2017 LSCB annual survey is being circulated to all Wokingham schools.  It is intended to support schools in demonstrating the effectiveness of their safeguarding practices as well as to enable areas for development to be highlighted and responded to where necessary.  The collated results will be reported to the Wokingham Safeguarding Children Board (WSCB) in July 2017 to assure the WSCB that schools are fulfilling their safeguarding requirements.

Schools were originally asked to complete the survey by 26th May 2017 but the deadline has now been extended to 30th June 2017.

If schools have queries, please email WSCB@wokingham.gov.uk
