NQT Plus 1 Development Programme

An opportunity for teachers in their first year after induction to review their career development and build effective strategies for curriculum and middle leadership.
All Key stages from EYFS to KS5
Teachers who have completed Induction and looking to take next steps in their career.
Session 1: RQT Network – Career Next Steps  
Date & time: Thursday 8th November 2018, 4:00 – 5:30pm

It's never too early to start thinking about the next steps you want to take in your career. Are you thinking about taking on a subject, pastoral or leadership role but not sure what direction to go

Come and hear from a number of teachers on the direction their career has taken, how this happened and if it was intentional. Pick their brains and go away armed with knowledge and information on your career options and steps. Also begin to think about how you might expand your professional knowledge base in preparation for the conference session in February.

Session 1 outcome: Teachers will be more confident and knowledgeable about the options available to them for career progression and the steps that they can take.
Session 2: RQT Conference - Skills for an Effective Leader
Date & time: Thursday 28th February 2019, 1:30 – 5:00pm

Are you looking on taking the next steps into leadership or have just embarked on this journey, finding out more about the skills required to make you a truly effective leader.

The conference will equip you with the skills and knowledge to become the best leader you can be, sessions will identify:
• leadership types and communication styles
• effectively leading quality first teaching – using performance information, what does it tell you about you, the team and your pupils and how does this information influence your action as a leader and as a practitioner role model
• how to steer your career path - tools to enable you to make key decisions
• top tips on avoiding burnt out executive syndrome
• how my wellbeing/mindfulness influences and affects others

Session 2 outcome: Teachers will be equipped and ready to move forward with leadership roles.
Session 3: RQT Network - Being the Very Best
Date & time: Thursday 20th June 2019, 4:00 – 5:30pm

This session will be focusing on further developing knowledge and understanding of outstanding classroom learning

This session led by Andy Hind from ES4S will enable teachers to explore, evaluate, develop knowledge through professional discussion to enhance and progress their own teaching to the next level.

Session 3 outcome: Teachers will inspired and confident to change and develop their practice to increase effectiveness of their teaching and learning and outcomes for pupils.

Sindlesham Court is easily accessed by car with free parking. If travelling by public transport you can get to the venue via train to Winnersh station or bus to Sainsburys Winnersh. Walking to the venue from these locations takes around 10/15 minutes.
