Description
The maths programmes aims to build teacher confidence to consciously plan and deliver maths lessons to achieve consistent progress for all pupils. Through peer collaboration and guided activities, teachers will be introduced to the evidence-based recommendations to make a significant difference to pupil’s learning. Together, delegates will unpick planning and classroom systems, build a greater awareness of misconceptions in the development of varied practise and appreciate the purpose and role of assessment and intervention to address barriers to learning and challenge children of all abilities.
Prior to the programme, delegates are asked to review the “Improving Mathematics for KS2 and
KS3” recommendations from the EEF and consider the implications for their own practice and the applicability to KS1. Between the two sessions, delegates will need to perform gap tasks and will be encouraged to organise lessons observation in their own school or an alternate setting.
Delegates are asked to bring printed examples of planning.
