Description

First Aid at Work – 3 day training course in the classroom at Shute End offices

The HSE-recognised First Aid at Work training course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces, giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations.

There are 2 courses available – 12th to 14th October and 8th to 10th November, bookable via the My Learning portal FAW-Homepage: First Aid at Work – 3 day course (learningpool.com)

PRE COURSE -   Candidates will need to confirm if they are current first aiders, if they are not then they will need to get approval via the normal first aid process from the Line Manager. If they are a school or paying for the course, then this approval is not required.

The core elements of the course will cover:

 

·         Adult resuscitation (CPR)

·         Allergic reaction

·         Asthma

·         Burns and scalds

·         Chest pains

·         Choking adult

·         Eye injuries

·         Fainting

·         Head injuries

·         Defibrillator (theory based)

·         Managing an emergency

·         Minor and severe bleeding

·         Poisons and what to do if someone has been poisoned

·         Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)

·         Seizures

·         Spinal injuries

·         Stroke
