This is an awareness-raising course that introduces autism and the areas of difference. It explores the areas of difference in terms of strengths and support needs and identifies some initial reasonable adjustments when supporting neurodivergent pupils
Course outcomes
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Extend your understanding of how autism affects pupils in school.
- Increase expertise in recognising an autistic pupil’s individual strengths and differences.
- Develop skills in identifying barriers to learning for autistic pupils.
- Develop understanding of what reasonable adjustments need to be made to support an autistic pupil in their setting.
