DSE Assessor Training Course

Assessors can help reduce ill health and injury associated with DSE and workstation use and help users understand the causes – ultimately they can improve worker morale and wellbeing. Assessors are ultimately needed to support staff that use display screen equipment whether they be fixed desktops or laptops, dedicated workstations, or shared workstations such as hot desks.

Substance Misuse & the Impact on Families

This session gives a general overview of the effects of commonly used substances. The session will include detailed information on heroin, cocaine/crack, cannabis and benzodiazepines such as Zanax and will explore the implications of substance misuse on health, relationships, and social functioning. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions at the end.

Health & Safety Management for Headteachers and Senior Leaders [FULL COURSE] - Course code HSSL2210

to

Wokingham Borough Council has a legal duty to ensure schools under their control are provided with relevant information and guidance in order to comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation.  Therefore, there is a requirement that all Head Teachers and senior leaders of maintained schools attend a one-day Health and Safety foundation course in order to demonstrate the required level of competence and awareness. It is recommended that Head Teachers, School Business Managers and other members of the SLT attend the full course.

This is a half-day refresher for Head Teachers and senior leaders who have previously attended the WBC full-day course on Health and Safety Management. It is recommended that a refresher course is attended on a 3-yearly cycle.

This interactive course will allow delegates to raise issues and ask questions to help gain a fuller appreciation of what needs to be done and how to go about it. Learning and understanding will be evaluated with the use of informal questions.

This training is aimed at staff who have previously attended the 3 day tutor training. It is offered annually so that staff can be updated with new resources and research to support them in continuing to offer a therapeutic approach to supporting behaviour in schools.
