Designated Person for Child Protection in Education Refresher Training
To understand the role and responsibilities of the Designated Person. To review the Legislative Requirements related to safeguarding children. This refresher course is an update for experienced DSLs and Deputies with an existing knowledge of the role.

Designated Leads & Deputies for child protection who are experienced in the role
Course outcomes
To understand the role and responsibilities of the Designated Person. To review the Legislative Requirements related to safeguarding children. To recognise how to identify signs of abuse and when it is appropriate to make a referral. To act as a source of support, advice and expertise within the educational environment. To have a working knowledge of how local safeguarding children boards operate, the conduct of a child protection case conference and be able to attend and contribute to these effectively when required to do so. To ensure each member of staff has access to and understands the school's child protection policy. To be able to keep detailed accurate secure written records of referrals or concerns.
