AIMED AT EARLY YEARS AND CHILDCARE SETTINGS

This course has two sessions - both to be attended - Monday 4th November & Monday 11th November.

Identify the signs and indications of child abuse in order to respond appropriately in accordance with local child protection policy and procedures.

Who should attend

Registered Childminders. Practitioners working with 0-3 year olds. Practitioners working with 3-5 year olds. Practitioners working in group settings only. Committee Members. Playwork Staff (Out of School Clubs) Owners/Managers/Supervisors of Playwork Settings.

Course outcomes

State their role in safeguarding children from harm. Define the different categories of child abuse. Understand the key legislative drivers. Identify the signs and indicators of child abuse in order to respond appropriately in accordance with local child protection policy and procedures. Explain how they should respond to child welfare concerns.
