MHST is aimed at children and young people with mild to moderate emotional wellbeing needs up to their 19th birthday. 

This could include issues such as anxiety, friendship and relationship issues, low mood, or exam stress.

Change to Provider of MHST from 1st August 2025

Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) covering West Berkshire, Reading, and Wokingham are now being delivered by a new provider: Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT).

Making a referral to MHST

Due to the change in provider, referrals are no longer accepted via the Wokingham Borough Council referral route.  Instead, please  find information and advice on the BHFT website.

Parent/carers will also be able to refer their child, (or if the CYP is 16 and over they can refer themselves) but are advised to initially discuss concerns with the school SENCO, Pastoral Team or Family Worker.
