Facilitated Conversations
Course leaders will facilitate conversations to explore questions, ideas, and reflections arising for participants in relation to ‘race’ and racism, including scenarios and school-based issues. School staff will be enabled to articulate and discuss this complex, sensitive topic. The skills and protocols that staff develop in the session will support discussions amongst staff and with parents in school.
Who should attend
Racial equity leaders; headteachers and seniorr leaders; any interested member of school staff. If possible, two members of staff from each participating school, ideally with one being a person of colour member of staff. Pre-requisite for this course: Attendance at the Racial Literacy 101 course.
Course outcomes
Greater confidence and skills to facilitate discussions relating to ‘race’ and racism with colleagues and parents.
