MHWB Network Meeting in Collaboration with The Charlie Waller Trust and Reading University
Pupil belonging is increasingly recognised as central to wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and learning, and it now features explicitly in the UK government’s latest education white paper. While a national framework is still being developed, schools are already expected to understand, evidence and strengthen pupils’ experiences of belonging.
This half‑day, in‑person workshop brings together teachers and leaders to focus on practical skills, shared learning and real‑world application.
It is designed to leave participants feeling confident, capable and connected, with clear next steps they can take back to their schools.
Course outcomes
By the end of the session, participants will:
- Understand what the new white paper means for schools now, particularly around pupil experience and belonging
- Learn how schools can meaningfully explore and measure belonging while the national framework is still in development
- Explore how pupil belonging shows up in everyday classroom practice and whole‑school systems
- Connect with colleagues from other schools to share ideas, challenges and solutions
