Safeguarding Children Level 2
This Multi-agency training is designed for all professional who work with children and/or their families. This includes practitioners from a wide variety of voluntary and statutory agencies in day to day contact with children and families. It is designed to enable workers to develop advanced awareness of child protection requirements
Who should attend
WBC Children's services staff (mandatory training) and organisations involved with providing services to children - from hospitals and schools to police and voluntary groups. This course is aimed at groups and organisations in the voluntary and community/public sector. They are for all staff and volunteers who have regular contact with children, young people or their families, whether they work in a paid or unpaid capacity.
Course outcomes
Aim:
To raise awareness about your roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and young people within your organisation.
Objectives:
• Understand why safeguarding is important
• Have an improved understanding of signs and indicators of abuse
• Understand local Child Protection Procedures and what to do if you are concerned about abuse
• Have developed confidence in dealing with child protection issues.
• An appreciation of ‘Intersectionality’
• Awareness of ‘Harm outside the Home’
• What do we mean by ‘Early Intervention
