Course outcomes
Join The Keys Academy Trust for this five day Level 2 Assisting Forest School course, which offers a detailed understanding of practical skills focused on the sustainable use of woodlands. It also provides a theoretical framework for planning, learning, and play in a Forest School environment. The course is specifically designed for individuals supporting a Level 3 Forest School Leader.
During this course you will discover how to support learning, play, and development in a natural setting, assist with the sustainable management of your site and develop your own practical skills.
Throughout the course, you will complete the Level 2 portfolio while assisting a Level 3 Forest School Practitioner in planning and delivering at least three Forest School sessions. It is essential to establish a connection with a Forest School Practitioner before the course begins to ensure a successful training experience.
Please note this course enables you to assist at Forest School, and does not qualify you to run Forest School Sessions.
You will have lots of support from your tutor (Rachel Winter), who is available by phone or email for any questions or guidance during your training.
Entry Requirements:
1. Established link with Forest School Practitioner
2. 16 years or over
3. A suitable First Aid qualification is useful to complement this course (can be completed after training dates)
A First Aid qualification is not required to complete this course, but is strongly recommended before assisting at Forest School.
The course consists of five in person sessions, all based at The Coombes CE Primary School from 9.30am - 4.30pm on the following dates: 15, 22 and 29 January 2027, 5 and 26 February 2027.
Attendees will need to provide their own lunch and refreshments.
