Pica and Polydipsia are both increasing in prevalence in both special schools and mainstream settings.

Wokingham Borough Council has a legal duty to ensure schools under their control are provided with relevant information and guidance in order to comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation.&

This course focuses on classroom practice and covers: 

Thriving Teachers Programme designed to empower educators in their 3rd and 4th year of teaching, enhancing classroom practice. 

A one-day course to assist site controllers/caretakers/handypersons etc. to understand their health and safety responsibilities and manage the risks associated with their activities.

This is a half-day refresher for Head Teachers and senior leaders who have previously attended the WBC full-day course on Health and Safety Management.

A programme to support new or nearly new SENCOs with various aspects of the role including, but not limited to:

Information on Executive Function and Working Memory. Adaptations in the classroom that may help to reduce cognitive load and increase confidence and independence.

A review of this summer’s Year 6-7 transition: What went well? Even Better if…? 

Using Intensive Interaction, communication temptation and visuals to develop engagement in EYFS and KS1
