MAIC - Multi-Agency Inclusion Clinic
The Multi-Agency Inclusion Clinic (MAIC) is an advisory service available to primary and secondary schools within Wokingham Borough. The clinic operates fortnightly during term-time. Schools can refer to the MAIC for guidance and signposting to support pupils who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, long-term absence from school due to various reasons, including the risk of permanent exclusion or on medical grounds.
The MAIC brings together professionals from a range of services to share advice, strategies, and resources to support the needs of the referred child or young person. Please note that the MAIC does not have the authority to grant funding. For more detailed information, please refer to the Terms of Reference and Protocol provided below.
Parental consent should be obtained before submitting a referral. Parental views can be directly entered into the online referral form, or schools may use the form provided below.
If submitting multiple referrals at once, schools must indicate their priority preference (question 3 – please skip if not applicable).
Referrals should now be submitted via the ONLINE REFERRAL FORM. Once submitted, the Children’s Commissioning Team will email you with a provisional date for your case to be reviewed by the MAIC.
For any queries, feedback, or to submit supporting documents, please email ChildrensCommissioningTeam@wokingham.gov.uk.
